This Misty Mountain valley is on the way to Engelberg from the airport. Two days later this was covered in Snow!

The medevial monastery and the mountain is added to by the hang gliders floating above.

Afternoon Shadows loom from the mountqain peaks dwarfing the area with the chairlifts.

This eerie picture is not doctored up. It was taken inside the famous Ice Hotel up on the mountain. The misty streams of fog gave this hallway a ghostly quality. I am just glad it showed up in the picture.i

The Moon seemed to be close enough to touch when looking at it above the snow-capped peaks. This early evening scene will be remembered by me for a long time.

First light on the mountain.

This panoramic scenery reminded me of the Sound of Music movie I saw as a kid. The white peaks against the green meadows and blue sky said it all. A couple days later this was covered in Snow (Feet)

Twilight snow fell and when the street lamp came on I shot this scene. The mountain and the town is behind the cloud.

Just before the morning sun burst over the mountains the birds scattered about in loud and excited flight. Add sound to this and you would be there. It was a warm 25 degrees F not C.

the town of Engelberg and the mountain

From the hill by Hotel terrace you see the town of Engelberg nestled beneath the mountains.

The end of a ski day meant a 5 minute shuttle ride back to town. This happy skier is hidden by the driving snow that was preparing for epic Powder we all enjoyed the following day.

This sight was only visible like this from a ski trail and only in the late afternoon. This one had everthing for me. Snow, mountains, Valleys, Lakes and Blue sky. It took me 3 tries on 3 days to get this shot and by the next day the snow came and the green would be gone.

ROCKY-TERRAIN

This is a shot of the village from a high perch right before Dawn. Notice the lit christmas tree in the park in the lower right hand corner. For scale that tree is about 45 feet high.
