Work Boats at Dawn! The Pink Sky was Awesome right before the Sun popped up along with the still waters and the rigging lights added to the beauty of these work boats at rest. This Marina is one of the must see spots in and around Cape May.

TWILIGHT MARINA was taken just minutes prior to Sunrise. I was still able to get the single starburst to show above the bow of the blue work boat. The lighting was a little softer than the earlier shot as there was more light to work with.

Called REEDS & BOATS just another shot of Grasses and boats with the Grasses as the main subject with the sun hitting them.

I called this ORANGE SKY & LIGHTHOUSE PANORAMIC. This sky was incredible. The light of the lighthouse came on as the sun set and the colors got more vibrant as time went on. Yes a tripod was required.

Called PASTEL SUNSET this has the southern cove some boats on the horizon , the shipwreck and the lighthouse. A couple minutes later the sky was totally orange

Called BIRD, JETTY & DRIFTWOOD this shot lined up too easy. It was nice of the bird to sit for the shot.

OCEAN-SPRAY

This is called WEATHERED DRIFTWOOD and it almost appears to have hair on it from the efect that the salt water has on it.

I called this WORK BOAT SUNRISE. Check out the reflection of the sunrise right at the water line of the boat.

I called this PLEASURE BOATS & WORK BOATS. The green double masted sailboat is bow to bow with a heavy duty work boat. Notice that the reflections are gone and colorful sky is only bright blue. Not quite the colors of Dusk & Dawn.

I tried to get many different views of the CAPE MAY Lighthouse . Simply called FENCE & LIGHTHOUSE this shot was taken at dawn. The sun was behind me. Notice the line of pink sky above the lighthouse.

Called VINTAGE FIRE TRUCK IN MOTION I tried to focus on the moving truck knowing that the firemen and the surroundings would be fuzzy and out of focus. I think it came out pretty cool so I included it. The Firemen were having a great time. It a shame that this picture doesn't have sound but you can imagine it!

Called SHINY PEBBLES ON THE BEACH the title says it all. The tide change left these rocks shining like gemstones begging to be captured. I look down more when theres not a cloud in the sky!

Called SWAN & WATER DROPLETS I was just happy with the detail I was able to get of this guy when he lifted his head out of the water.

I called this TWILIGHT REFLECTIONS. Check out the starburst from dock light above the Bow of the Blue Work boat. 5 minutes later the sun was up! As with most of my twilight shots a tripod and long exposure was required.

Called RUSTY BEAUTY this work boat has tons of character. Next to the green, blue & red work boats it may look a little beat up but it still gets the job done.

Called ORANGE SKY BLUE WATER this shot captured the revolving light as it faced the camera lens. Timing was everything due to the long exposure of the shutter speed and the angle on the tripod I tokk several at bats before getting the full lightburst. This sky almost looks unworldly.

Called LIGHTHOUSE REFLECTIONS this shot is similar to LIGHTHOUSE-POND but the sky had more pink in it and the ducks all moved to the right side of the lightbeam for me.

SPRAY & LIGHTHOUSE this shot has the spray from the jetty at the cove about 7 feet high with the lighthouse in the background.

I called this BEACH, BIRDS & REHOBOTH the horizon is clear and you can see Rehoboth towers and such. There were hundreds of gulls flying in formation above the beach.

Called SHIPWRECK & SUNSET is the famous Concrete ship (or whats left of it) at the south end of Cape May.

One of my favorite shots of the Cove in Daylight I think this captures the southern cove and its real residents with the lighthouse in the background. Simply called GULLS, COVE, LIGHTHOUSE

Called TRUNK ON THE BEACH this driftwood was one of many that had washed ashore in recent storms and high tides. They all have a lot of character.

SWANS AT DAWN (check out those reflections in still waters)

Called MORNING REFLECTIONS I moved the tripod back and went for the sun hitting the white hull and the masts and rigging in the reflections. My tripod was a must.

WORK-BOATS-at-NOON

Called LIGHTHOUSE & POND this shot was taken near the marsh/pond which was used pretty heavily by Birders in the Park near the lighthouse.. I never saw Birders before this trip but now I know. They specialiize in bird shots or simply watch them with binoculars. Taken at dawn the light burst was more pronounced in the reflections between the ducks.

Called LIGHTHOUSE-TWILIGHT the amber sky and the single gull add to this soft pastel shot after the sun went down.

ORANGE SKY LIGHTHOUSE SHADOWS appeals to me because of the mist, the lights and the birds. You may have to see the extra large picture to appreciate the birds. Just right click on the picture and click on x-large to see any picture larger or just watch a slide show.

Called MARSH IN BLOOM I could not pass this up when I saw the deep reflections of the flowers.

SHINY-ROCKS-GULL

EARLY DAY MARINA was just one more angle of the boats from a little further back. The marsh grass framed the boats pretty well.

I called this GRASSES & BOATS. I wanted to get the grass crisp and the boats a little fuzzy. The early sun had just hit the hull on the left.

LIGHTHOUSE-in-AMBER

This shot called LIGHTHOUSE YELLOW FLOWERS was taken mid day on the beach side of the dunes. If you look close you'll see an orange butterfly above the yellow flowers. The bright blue sky helps this colorful lighthouse stand out.

Called OCTOBER TENTS this is a piece of history as things that were used more in days gone by when going to CAPE MAY. These went unused in OCTOBER even though it hit 80 degrees on this day. Notice the crowds in October
